Well, today is an exciting day and I've just tweeted all about it. I have a new designation of CHRL which stands for a Certified Human Resources Leader. It used to be a CHRP which was Professional at the end but that is now the first level of designation. Since I already held that designation I was automatically given the higher second level designation of Leader. There's only one more level...that's a long time away though :)
Just a short post today because I'm trying to figure out how to get more active in the social media area. I'm haven't been on twitter before and LinkedIn was more of something I worked on when I was actively looking for a job. Let's see how the week goes...
Is it just me or does UOIT have the best librarians on earth? I can't believe how helpful they were. They absolutely helped me to work through some work for another class, directing me to a couple of additional social media portals I hadn't thought of using before.
I'm starting to wish there was some sort of tool that kept track of how many minutes and hours you spend staring blankly at a social media page trying to figure out what you want to say on it...sigh
I have spent more time on LinkedIn this week than I have in the last 6 months. With a specific focus on this one social media format I have found it easier to hone in on specific topics that are of interest to me and provide my comments on them. I have also found a few articles that I found interesting and shared them with the AEDT group along with my own opinion of the article. I hope I will get more comments on them as the days go by. I'm really interested to see what others think about the free tuition to universities in Germany and how early kids should be exposed to social media and where that exposure should take place (i.e. home, classroom, etc). I'm finding myself looking for a bit more time to spend on the social media so that I don't miss anything news as it happens.
