I have finished my first artifact for class and I must say it took me well over 3 hours from start to finish, without stopping. I decided to colour a page containing a quote that I found quite inspiring and entertaining given the concept I was working on. Since the quote states we should live life by using every crayon in the box, including the colours you would not normally select like black or brown (except for items that are usually expected to be those colours such as a night sky or dirt).
I also decided to colour the majority of the picture with markers, since that is my usual colour medium of choice and then add a little bit of humour by colouring in the word crayon with an assortment of crayons from my two year old son't collection. They were not only hard to colour with since they are triangular in shape and mostly broken at both end but also because some of them are inexpensive and offered a tool much like colouring with a tube of frozen lip gloss.
Each of the colours within the marker box was used at least one time and once they were each used up, I went back to the beginning and began using those colours again in the same order. See if you can figure out where it ends and begins again. The only sections of the picture that are different are the small dots around the middle words which were coloured in with 0.3mm fineline markers to make sure I didn't go out of the lines :)
Please enjoy the gallery of images on the right hand border including my marker and crayon selections as well as individual snapshots of the process. Enjoy!
